Titanium vessel heads and forged nozzles are pressure-boundary components whose material, geometry, fabrication and inspection must be considered together. Corrosion resistance cannot compensate for incomplete pressure design or poor weld details.

Corrosive-Service Review
Define media, concentration, temperature, pressure, chlorides, crevices, deposits, aeration, galvanic contacts and cleaning. Grade 2 is common in many oxidizing environments; palladium-alloyed Grade 7 or Grade 12 may be considered for selected service only after materials review.
Fabrication Interface
Head-to-shell and nozzle-to-vessel welds require compatible filler and procedures, contamination control, fit-up, purge or shielding, heat input and examination. The purchaser should align material certificates, drawing revisions and weld maps.
