Product Detail
Product Introduction
ASTM B348 Grade 1 Titanium Bar is supplied for corrosion-resistant fabrication and precision manufacturing. The final purchase definition must identify the exact material designation, governing specification and revision, dimensions, condition, tolerances, tests and documentation; trade-name or cross-standard equivalence is not assumed.
When should ASTM B348 Grade 1 titanium bar be selected?
Selection answer: Grade 1 is considered when commercially pure titanium corrosion behavior, high ductility and forming response are more important than the higher minimum strength of Grade 2, Grade 3 or Grade 4.
Selection boundary: Do not call Grade 1 a universally better corrosion grade or substitute it by grade number alone. The design must confirm strength, section, fabrication route, service environment and the exact product specification.
RFQ data to confirm: Send the governing specification and revision, grade and UNS, bar shape, dimensions, condition, finished-part use, tolerances, inspection, certificates, quantity and destination for technical review.
Product Specifications
| Product | ASTM B348 Grade 1 Titanium Bar | Grade | Titanium Grade 1 / UNS R50250 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | ASTM B348/B348M covers annealed titanium and titanium-alloy bars and billets and identifies Grade 1 as UNS R50250. An RFQ should state the exact specification revision, Grade 1, bar or billet form, cross-section, dimensions and tolerances, condition, surface and straightness. ASTM F67 implant material is a separate specification and must not be inferred from Grade 1 or UNS R50250 alone. | Size & Form | Round bar, rod and cut blanks; diameter, length, straightness and machining allowance are confirmed by RFQ |
| Tolerance | Governing material standard or approved customer drawing | Supply Condition | Hot rolled, forged, annealed, peeled, pickled or ground as specified |
| Inspection | Verify heat identity, Grade 1 chemistry, tensile properties and test orientation where applicable, dimensions, straightness, surface acceptance, marking, MTC and heat/lot traceability. Add ultrasonic examination, tighter tolerances, cleanliness or customer witness points only with stated method, coverage and acceptance criteria. | Documents | MTC, heat/lot traceability and agreed inspection reports |
Additional Supply & Ordering Details
Useful, technically consistent information consolidated from earlier product pages.
| Bar and rod naming | ASTM B348 Grade 1 titanium bar and commercially pure Grade 1 titanium rod describe the same solid wrought product family on this page. The purchase order controls the section, dimensions and condition. |
|---|---|
| Material identity | Titanium Grade 1 / UNS R50250 is commercially pure titanium selected for high ductility and corrosion resistance. State ASTM B348/B348M or ASME SB348 and the required revision. |
| Ordering definition | Provide round, square or other approved bar section, diameter or dimensions, length, condition, surface, straightness, tolerances, quantity, application and machining allowance. |
| Quality evidence | Request MTC, heat identity, chemistry and tensile results, dimensions, straightness, surface inspection and any expressly required PMI, UT or PT. |

Services We Can Provide
Product Packaging
Bars and rods are separated by grade and heat, protected against surface damage and secured in bundles or export cases with identification and traceability labels. Typical export packaging for the same physical product form is shown below; final packing is confirmed for each order.

Application Scenarios

Chemical processing equipment
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Marine and desalination systems
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Industrial fabrication and precision components
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.
FAQ
Is Grade 1 titanium bar the same as Grade 2 bar?
No. Both are commercially pure titanium grades, but Grade 1 has lower specified strength and greater ductility. Their chemistry, mechanical requirements and certificates are not interchangeable.
Is ASTM B348 Grade 1 bar automatically implant grade?
No. ASTM B348 is a bar and billet product specification. ASTM F67 is a separate unalloyed titanium specification for surgical implant applications and must be expressly required when applicable.
What information is needed for a Grade 1 bar quotation?
Provide ASTM B348/B348M revision, Grade 1 / UNS R50250, round, square, hexagonal or billet form, diameter or section, length, condition, tolerance, straightness, surface, quantity, inspection, MTC and destination.
