Titanium Threaded Elbow and Tee Selection Guide
Titanium threaded elbows and tees are selected by piping function, not by appearance alone. An elbow changes flow direction, while a tee creates or combines a branch. The buyer must define every port, thread and service condition before a pressure-piping review can be completed.

Applicable Standards and Thread Definition
ASME B16.52 covers titanium and titanium-alloy forged fittings with threaded and socket-welding ends within its stated scope. When NPT threads are required, the purchase order may invoke ASME B1.20.1 for thread form and gaging. Special threads or dimensions must be identified explicitly and agreed before manufacture.
How to Specify a Titanium Threaded Elbow
For a titanium threaded elbow, state 45° or 90°, titanium grade, NPS at both ends, equal or reducing form, thread gender and designation, pressure, temperature, medium, sealant or lubricant and inspection.
How to Specify a Titanium Threaded Tee
For a titanium threaded tee, identify equal or reducing form, run size, branch size, thread at every port, flow service, pressure, temperature, sealing method and inspection.
Assembly and Galling Control
Titanium threaded surfaces can gall if assembled without an approved procedure. The piping specification should define cleanliness, compatible mating materials, permitted sealant or lubricant, engagement, installation method and reuse policy. Dimensional conformity alone does not establish a complete pressure rating.
