Titanium mesh products can provide corrosion-resistant open structures for filtration, separation, flow distribution, guards and electrode substrates. The suitable form depends on geometry, mechanical load, flow, cleaning and whether a functional coating is required.

Filtration and Flow Distribution

For liquid or gas service, provide particle size, allowable pressure drop, flow direction, velocity, solids loading and cleaning method. A high open area may reduce flow resistance but can also reduce stiffness. The supporting frame and edge attachment should be designed together with the mesh.

Electrochemical Equipment

Titanium expanded mesh is used as a substrate in some electrochemical systems, but the substrate grade, coating chemistry, coating loading, electrical connection, polarity, electrolyte, current density and service life must be specified by the equipment designer. A bare titanium mesh quotation does not include a catalytic coating unless stated.

Marine and Seawater Equipment

Material selection should consider temperature, deposits, crevices, dissimilar-metal contact, cleaning and stagnant conditions. Define how the mesh will be fixed because welding, bolting and frame materials affect the complete assembly.

Inspection and Packaging

Inspection can cover material certification, opening or hole dimensions, wire or sheet thickness, width, length, flatness, visual condition and quantity. Finished mesh should be protected from crushing, bent edges and contamination during export packing.
