2026-08-11

A titanium mesh inquiry must identify whether the product is woven wire mesh, expanded metal or perforated sheet. The word “mesh” alone does not define the manufacturing route, opening geometry, section size or open area.
Three Common Product Forms
| Form | Starting material | Dimensions to state |
|---|
| Woven titanium mesh | Titanium wire | Mesh count or clear opening, wire diameter, weave, width and length |
| Expanded titanium mesh | Slit and stretched sheet | SWD, LWD, strand width, thickness, sheet size and flattened or raised condition |
| Titanium perforated sheet | Punched sheet | Hole shape, hole size, pitch, pattern, margins, thickness and sheet size |
Opening and Open Area
Clear opening controls particle passage and flow space, while wire or strand section influences stiffness and durability. Open area is calculated differently for woven, expanded and perforated products. State whether the quoted percentage is a minimum, nominal or calculated value and identify the formula or drawing used.
Material and Surface Definition
Specify titanium grade and the relevant material basis for the starting wire or sheet. Grade 1 and Grade 2 are often evaluated where formability and corrosion resistance are priorities, while alloy grades require application-specific review. State whether the surface is pickled, cleaned, flattened, deburred or otherwise finished. Electrochemical users should define any activation or coating separately; uncoated titanium mesh and coated electrode products are not equivalent.
RFQ Data
- Product form and titanium grade
- Opening, mesh count, hole or diamond geometry
- Wire diameter, strand dimensions or sheet thickness
- Width, length, edge treatment and flatness
- Open-area requirement and calculation basis
- Quantity, inspection, certificates and packaging
FAQ
Is mesh count enough for a quotation?
No. Mesh count should be accompanied by wire diameter or clear opening, weave, grade and finished size.
Can expanded mesh and perforated sheet use the same drawing?
No. Their manufacturing routes and dimensional definitions differ. Use a form-specific drawing and terminology.
