How to Specify a Prefabricated Titanium Pipe Spool
2026-08-11
A pipe spool is a fabricated system, not a single ASTM product. A complete RFQ must control each component, the welding route and the finished assembly.

RFQ Checklist
- Governing piping code, line class and approved isometric
- Bill of materials with grade and component specifications
- NPS/OD, wall or schedule and dimensional tolerances
- Flange standard, class, facing and rotation
- WPS/PQR, welder qualification, filler and shielding requirements
- Weld map, VT/PT/RT/UT scope and acceptance criteria
- Pressure or leak testing, cleaning and preservation
- Data-book index and heat/lot traceability
Do Not Certify the Assembly to One Pipe Standard
ASTM B861 can certify seamless pipe, while fittings and flanges use their own specifications. The completed spool requires fabrication, inspection and test records under the governing code and project plan.
Send your isometric through the Titanium Pipe Spool product page.
