The minimum quantity may be controlled by available starting material, forming and welding setup, tooling, cut-length yield, heat-lot traceability and the number of different sizes. Grade and Specification Boundary

The order must identify the titanium grade and the governing product specification, drawing or approved technical agreement. Do not assume that ASTM B338 round heat-exchanger tube dimensions automatically cover a square section. Mechanical properties and chemistry must be taken from the specification applicable to the ordered grade and product route. If an alternative grade, rectangular section or fabricated route is proposed to reduce cost, it requires engineering and customer approval.

  • Grade and starting material: commercially pure and alloy titanium follow different material and processing routes.
  • Section and yield: unusual size-wall combinations, many short cuts and tight tolerances increase setup or processing loss.

  • Surface and inspection: pickled, polished or drawing-controlled finish plus dimensional reports, PT, UT or other tests must be stated before quotation.
