Product Detail

Product Introduction

Titanium threaded couplings are compact straight fittings used to join two externally threaded pipe ends. The order must define titanium grade, full or reducing bore, NPS at each end, thread designation and gaging, engagement length, pressure and temperature basis, service medium, inspection and documentation.

How should a titanium threaded coupling be ordered?

Selection answer: A threaded coupling joins two compatible externally threaded components and may be full or reducing. The thread system, size, engagement, pressure duty and sealing method must match both connected parts.

Selection boundary: Do not mix NPT, BSPT, BSPP, metric or drawing-specific threads based on nominal size. Thread taper, pitch, hand, tolerance, sealing route and connected-wall thickness require confirmation.

RFQ data to confirm: Provide full or reducing type, grade, thread standard and exact designation at both ends, length and outside geometry, pressure and temperature, medium, sealing method, quantity, gauges or inspection and certificates.

Typical ranges are quotation guidance, not a stock guarantee. Final availability and tolerances are confirmed against the complete RFQ and design code.

Selection and Configuration

  • Full or reducing bore: State whether both ends use the same NPS or identify the large and small end sizes.
  • Joint accessibility: Use a coupling for a compact straight joint where routine separation without pipe rotation is not required.
  • Thread and galling control: Define thread designation, gaging, engagement, sealant or lubricant and the permitted assembly procedure.
Pressure-design note: Dimensional conformity does not by itself establish pressure rating. The piping designer must verify material allowable stress, wall thickness, weld joint, corrosion allowance, temperature and governing construction code.

FAQ

What information is required to quote Titanium Threaded Coupling?

Provide the titanium grade, product form, dimensional standard or drawing, thread or critical dimensions, quantity, surface treatment, mating parts, service conditions and required inspection documents.

Which standards apply to Titanium Threaded Coupling?

ASME B16.52 applies to covered titanium and titanium-alloy forged threaded fittings. ASME B1.20.1 may define NPT threads when invoked. The purchase order must state full or reducing configuration, both end sizes, grade, pressure and temperature basis, service medium, inspection and documentation.

How are Titanium Threaded Coupling inspected?

Review MTC and heat/lot traceability; verify full or reducing bore, NPS at each end, thread form and gaging, engagement length, bore alignment, cleanliness and any specified pressure or leak test.
