Product Detail

Product Introduction

Titanium threaded unions are separable three-piece fittings used where connected piping or equipment must be disconnected without rotating long pipe sections. A complete order defines titanium grade, NPS, thread at each end, union-seat and sealing arrangement, assembly orientation, pressure and temperature basis, service medium, inspection and traceability.

When is a titanium threaded union preferred?

Selection answer: A threaded union provides a separable connection that can be disconnected without rotating the connected pipe. The complete assembly includes compatible threaded ends, a union nut and an approved sealing interface.

Selection boundary: A union is not the same product as a simple coupling. Seat geometry, gasket or metal-to-metal seal, thread system, pressure-temperature duty, assembly orientation and replacement-part compatibility must be defined.

RFQ data to confirm: Provide grade, thread standard and sizes, union pattern, seat and sealing method, pressure and temperature, medium, quantity, required component materials, inspection and certificates.

Selection and Configuration

  • Separable connection: Use a union where maintenance requires disconnection without rotating the connected pipe or equipment.
  • Seat and sealing arrangement: Define metal-seat, gasket or project-specific sealing details together with compatible mating components.
  • Thread and assembly control: State the thread designation, gaging, engagement, orientation, sealant or lubricant and anti-galling procedure.
Pressure-design note: Dimensional conformity does not by itself establish pressure rating. The piping designer must verify material allowable stress, wall thickness, weld joint, corrosion allowance, temperature and governing construction code.

FAQ

What information is required to quote Titanium Threaded Union?

Provide the titanium grade, product form, dimensional standard or drawing, thread or critical dimensions, quantity, surface treatment, mating parts, service conditions and required inspection documents.

Which standards apply to Titanium Threaded Union?

ASME B16.52 applies to covered titanium and titanium-alloy forged threaded fittings. ASME B1.20.1 may define NPT threads when invoked. The approved purchase order must also state the titanium grade, union-seat configuration, pressure and temperature basis, service medium, inspection and documentation.

How are Titanium Threaded Union inspected?

Review MTC and heat/lot traceability; verify union components, NPS, thread form and gaging, seat and sealing surfaces, assembly fit, critical dimensions, cleanliness and any specified pressure or leak test.
