ASTM B265, ASTM F67, ASTM F136 and AMS4911 can all appear in titanium sheet or plate purchasing, but they do not represent interchangeable quality levels. Each standard has a different product scope and application intent.

Do Not Select a Standard From Grade Alone

Grade 5 chemistry does not automatically establish AMS4911 compliance, and Grade 23 or ELI wording does not by itself establish ASTM F136 compliance. The order must invoke the applicable standard and revision with its manufacturing, testing and documentation requirements.

Application and Quality-System Requirements

Medical and aerospace manufacturers may require approved sources, special process controls, microstructure or melt-route evidence, additional test reports, inspection records and regulatory documentation beyond a general industrial material certificate.
