Product Introduction
Titanium expanded metal mesh is made by slitting and stretching titanium sheet into a continuous diamond or other opening pattern. No metal is punched out: the resulting one-piece network has strands and bonds instead of intersecting wires or solid-sheet ligaments. Purchasing therefore depends on SWD and LWD, strand width and thickness, overall thickness, raised or flattened condition, sheet orientation, cut size and edge condition.

FAQ
Is expanded titanium mesh woven from wire?
No. It is produced from sheet that is slit and stretched, leaving an integral network of strands and bonds without woven intersections.
What do SWD and LWD mean?
They describe the short way and long way of the diamond opening. The RFQ must state the measurement convention and orientation in the finished panel.
When should flattened expanded metal be specified?
Specify flattened form when a lower and more uniform profile is needed. Rolling changes overall thickness, opening geometry and sometimes open area, so raised and flattened material are not interchangeable.
