Product Detail

Product Introduction

Titanium pressure-vessel heads close process vessels, columns, reactors and heat-exchanger shells where corrosion resistance and pressure-boundary integrity are required. Each head must be engineered from the applicable code calculation and approved drawing, including material grade, formed diameter, nominal and minimum thickness after forming, crown and knuckle radii, straight flange, weld preparation, heat treatment, surface condition and inspection.

Product Specifications

ProductTitanium Pressure Vessel HeadsGradeTitanium Grade 2, Grade 7 or Grade 12 by pressure design
StandardMaterial may be ordered to ASTM B265 / ASME SB265 for plate when expressly invoked. Finished-head design and fabrication are governed by the approved pressure-vessel code, drawing and purchase specification; common references can include ASME Section VIII or EN 13445, but code compliance is not claimed without the complete design, welding, examination and certification scope.Size & FormEllipsoidal, torispherical or hemispherical head; diameter, crown/knuckle radii, nominal/minimum thickness, straight flange and weld preparation by approved drawing
ToleranceCode- and drawing-defined profile, diameter, thickness, roundness, flange and weld-edge tolerancesSupply ConditionCold or hot formed as approved; pickled, ground or order-specific surface; weld-ready edge and protected shipping
InspectionAvailable controls include MTC and heat identity, incoming plate thickness, formed profile templates, inside/outside diameter, crown and knuckle geometry, straight flange, minimum thickness mapping, visual and surface inspection, PT, UT where applicable, weld-preparation checks and third-party inspection by agreement.DocumentsMTC, heat/lot traceability and agreed inspection reports

FAQ

Which head type is most commonly requested?

A 2:1 ellipsoidal head is common, but head type must come from the approved pressure-vessel design and available vessel envelope.

Why specify minimum thickness after forming?

Forming can thin local areas, especially near the knuckle. The finished head must retain the design-required minimum thickness.

Can SAKY ALLOY certify an ASME vessel head by material alone?

No. Material supply, forming, welding, NDT, code calculations and authorized inspection form the complete compliance scope.
