Product Detail

Product Introduction

Grade 5 lock nuts combine a Ti-6Al-4V nut body with a specified prevailing-torque feature. Selection must match locking form to service temperature, chemicals, mating fastener, lubricant, installation procedure, proof-load requirements and permitted reuse cycles.

Typical inquiry ranges are not a stock guarantee. Final manufacturability, tolerances and test requirements are confirmed against the complete RFQ.

Selection and Configuration

  • Nylon-insert form: Use only where the approved insert material remains compatible with temperature, chemicals, moisture and maintenance life.
  • All-metal form: Removes the polymer insert but requires validation of prevailing torque, relaxation and galling risk.
  • Mating joint: Specify bolt grade, thread tolerance, lubrication and the required prevailing-torque test sequence.
Standards and ordering definition: ISO 7040, ISO 7042, DIN and ASME B18 references may define particular forms when expressly invoked. The order must separately establish Grade 5 condition and applicable ASTM F467/F467M finished-nut requirements.
