Product Detail
Product Introduction
Grade 2 Titanium Seamless Tube must be ordered by both alloy grade and product form. Tube and pipe standards have different scopes, manufacturing definitions, dimensions and tests. State the governing specification and revision, seamless or welded route, OD or NPS, wall or schedule, length, condition, surface, tolerances, service, testing and documentation.
Product Specifications
| Product | Grade 2 Titanium Seamless Tube | Grade | Titanium Grade 2 / UNS R50400 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | ASTM B338 for covered condenser/heat-exchanger tube or ASTM B861 for seamless pipe, as applicable. The purchase order must state the required revision and all supplementary tests; one standard should not be substituted for another merely because the alloy grade is the same. | Size & Form | OD or NPS, wall thickness or schedule, cut or random length, straightness and end preparation by RFQ |
| Tolerance | Invoked product specification or tighter order-defined OD, wall, length, straightness and end tolerances | Supply Condition | Annealed or order-specific condition; pickled, descaled, bright, ground or protected surface as applicable |
| Inspection | MTC and heat/lot identity, chemistry and mechanical results, OD, wall and length, straightness and ends, surface examination and the hydrostatic, pneumatic, eddy-current, ultrasonic or other tests required by the invoked specification and order. | Documents | MTC, heat/lot traceability and agreed inspection reports |

Services We Can Provide
Product Packaging
Pipe and tube ends are capped, surfaces are wrapped where required, and bundles or export cases are identified by grade, size, heat and quantity. Typical export packaging for the same physical product form is shown below; final packing is confirmed for each order.

Application Scenarios

Heat exchangers, condensers and process equipment
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Chemical, energy and industrial piping
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Marine, desalination and seawater systems
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.
FAQ
Is ASTM B338 the same as ASTM B861 or B862?
No. B338 covers seamless and welded titanium tubes for condensers and heat exchangers, while B861 covers seamless pipe and B862 covers welded pipe. Use the specification matching the product and application.
What dimensions are required for quotation?
Provide OD or NPS, wall or schedule, length, tolerances, end condition and quantity, together with grade, specification and condition.
Which tests should be requested?
Testing follows the invoked standard and project order. State any required hydrostatic, pneumatic, eddy-current, ultrasonic, flattening, bend or supplementary examination explicitly.
