Product Detail
Product Introduction
Source Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V titanium wire for aerospace, medical and high-strength components, with inspection and traceability. Final supply is controlled by the grade, specification revision, dimensions, condition, tolerance, inspection and documentation stated on the approved order.
When should Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V titanium wire be specified?
Selection answer: Grade 5 wire is selected where higher strength-to-weight performance is required in formed wire components, springs, fasteners or other specification-controlled products. The finished design must confirm forming, fatigue, corrosion and heat-treatment requirements.
Selection boundary: Do not treat Ti-6Al-4V, ERTi-5 and Grade 23 ELI as interchangeable labels. The controlling product or filler specification, chemistry limits, condition, testing and certificate system determine acceptance.
RFQ data to confirm: Send the exact standard, grade and UNS, diameter, condition, delivery form, package weight, application, quantity and inspection documentation for quotation review.
Product Specifications
| Product | Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V Titanium Wire | Grade | Grade 5 / Ti-6Al-4V / UNS R56400 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | Order Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V wire as UNS R56400 to ASTM B863/B863M with the required revision, condition and dimensions. ERTi-5 welding filler under AWS A5.16 / ISO 24034 and Grade 23 Ti-6Al-4V ELI are separate order descriptions. | Size & Form | Wire diameter, coil or spool form and straight lengths are confirmed by RFQ |
| Tolerance | Applicable ASTM B863 tolerance or customer drawing | Supply Condition | Bright or pickled wire in coil, spool or straight length |
| Inspection | Verify MTC and heat/lot identity, chemistry including interstitial limits, mechanical results for the ordered condition, diameter and tolerance, surface, coil or spool identity, cast and helix where applicable, package weight and any customer-specified cleanliness or supplementary test. | Documents | MTC, heat/lot traceability and agreed inspection reports |

Services We Can Provide
Product Packaging
Wire is protected in coils, spools or straight-length bundles with moisture-resistant wrapping and labels for grade, diameter, heat and quantity. Typical export packaging for the same physical product form is shown below; final packing is confirmed for each order.

Application Scenarios

Aerospace wire components
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Medical and precision parts
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

High-strength fasteners and springs
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.
FAQ
Is Grade 5 titanium wire the same as ERTi-5 welding wire?
No. Both use a Ti-6Al-4V alloy family, but ASTM B863 Grade 5 product wire and AWS A5.16 ERTi-5 welding filler have different specifications, classifications and intended controls. State the required standard explicitly.
Can Grade 23 ELI wire replace Grade 5 wire?
Not automatically. Grade 23 / UNS R56407 has extra-low-interstitial chemistry and application-specific documentation. Substitution requires engineering and specification approval rather than alloy-name similarity.
What information is needed to quote Grade 5 titanium wire?
Provide ASTM B863 revision, Grade 5 / UNS R56400, diameter and tolerance, condition, coil, spool or straight length, unit weight, surface, quantity, application, tests, MTC and heat/lot traceability.
