Product Detail

Product Introduction

Titanium Rectangular Tube is a non-round hollow section ordered for fabricated frames, equipment and custom assemblies. Availability depends on grade, size, wall, corner radii, length and manufacturing route; ASTM B338 should not be assumed to cover non-round structural profiles unless the purchase specification expressly establishes it.

StandardTitanium rectangular tubing is commonly supplied to a customer drawing and agreed manufacturing/inspection specification. The order should not cite a round heat-exchanger-tube standard as a substitute for the required non-round geometry and acceptance criteria.Size & FormRectangular hollow section by outside dimensions, wall thickness, corner radii and length
ToleranceCustomer-drawing dimensions, wall, radii, straightness, twist, squareness and cut-end requirementsSupply ConditionStraight cut lengths in agreed formed or welded condition with protected ends and bundle or case packing
InspectionMTC review, outside dimensions and wall, corner radii, straightness, twist, squareness, length and cut ends, surface and weld-seam inspection where applicable, and heat/lot traceability.DocumentsMTC, heat/lot traceability and agreed inspection reports

Additional Supply & Ordering Details

Useful, technically consistent information consolidated from earlier product pages.

Section definitionRectangular titanium tube has unequal outside width and height. Specify both outside dimensions, wall, corner radii, length, straightness, twist and rectangularity; width and height orientation must appear on the drawing.
Manufacturing-route boundaryFormed-and-welded, extruded, drawn or machined hollow routes can differ in corner radii, wall distribution and available aspect ratio. Confirm route, seam location and governing project requirements.
Orientation and loading dataIdentify the major and minor axes, mating surfaces, seam orientation, cut or hole locations and whether bending, welding or finish machining follows. These inputs are more important than an equivalent round size.
Inspection focusMeasure width, height, diagonals, wall, corner radii, twist, bow and end squareness; inspect seam quality for welded construction and protect broad faces from transport damage.

FAQ

Is titanium rectangular tube covered by ASTM B338?

ASTM B338 primarily addresses seamless and welded tubes for condensers and heat exchangers. Non-round hollow sections should be ordered to an explicit drawing and agreed specification unless the contract states otherwise.

Which dimensions are essential for quotation?

Provide outside width and height, wall, corner radii, length, straightness, twist, cut ends and tolerances.

Can Grade 5 be formed like Grade 2?

Not automatically. Grade 5 has higher strength and different forming behavior, so section size, radii, route and heat-treatment requirements require manufacturing review.
