Product Detail

Product Introduction

Grade 16 Titanium Plate is supplied for corrosion-resistant fabrication and precision manufacturing. The final purchase definition must identify the exact material designation, governing specification and revision, dimensions, condition, tolerances, tests and documentation; trade-name or cross-standard equivalence is not assumed.

When should Grade 16 titanium plate be considered?

Selection answer: Grade 16 is considered for corrosion-selected process equipment where a lower palladium addition than Grade 7 is supported by service-specific corrosion data and the required strength and fabrication route.

Selection boundary: Do not select Grade 16 merely because palladium is present. Actual medium, concentration, contaminants, aeration, normal and upset temperature, crevice geometry, weld design and galvanic interfaces control suitability.

RFQ data to confirm: Send the material standard and revision, Grade 16 or 16H, product form, dimensions, process chemistry and temperature, fabrication plan, testing, certificates, quantity and destination for technical review.

Product Specifications

StandardASTM B265/B265M covers annealed titanium strip, sheet and plate and identifies Grade 16 as UNS R52402, an unalloyed titanium grade containing 0.04% to 0.08% palladium. Order the exact revision, Grade 16, sheet or plate form, thickness, width, length, condition, surface, flatness and dimensional tolerances. Grade 16H has a different guaranteed minimum tensile strength and must be expressly specified when required.Size & FormSheet, plate and cut blanks; thickness, width, length, flatness and edge condition are confirmed by RFQ

FAQ

How does Grade 16 titanium plate differ from Grade 2?

Grade 16 is based on commercially pure titanium with a specified 0.04% to 0.08% palladium addition. The grades have different chemistry and corrosion-selection basis and are not certificate-equivalent.

Are Grade 16 and Grade 16H interchangeable?

Grade 16H has the same grade chemistry family but a higher guaranteed minimum tensile strength. It may meet Grade 16 chemistry, but the ordered designation and pressure-vessel design requirements must be followed expressly.

What information is needed for a Grade 16 plate quotation?

Provide ASTM B265/B265M revision, Grade 16 or 16H, sheet or plate form, thickness and tolerances, width, length, surface, flatness, process medium and temperature, fabrication, tests, MTC, quantity and destination.
