Grade 5 Titanium Hex Bolts and Nuts Manufacturer & Supplier
Grade 5 Titanium Hex Bolts and Nuts
Grade 5 titanium hex bolts and nuts are manufactured from Ti-6Al-4V (UNS R56400), the most widely used high-strength titanium alloy. They combine a high strength-to-weight ratio with excellent resistance in many seawater, marine, aerospace and industrial environments.
SAKY ALLOY supplies metric and inch-series hex bolts, hex cap screws, studs, nuts and washers to recognized fastener standards or customer drawings. Dimensions, thread fit, mechanical properties, surface condition and certification are agreed for each order.

Grade 5 Titanium Chemical Composition
The raw material specification and purchase order control the acceptance limits. Typical Grade 5 chemistry is shown below for preliminary reference.
| Al | V | Fe max | O max | C max | N max | H max | Ti |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5.5–6.75% | 3.5–4.5% | 0.40% | 0.20% | 0.08% | 0.05% | 0.015% | Balance |
Mechanical Performance
Finished-fastener performance depends on the applicable fastener specification, material condition, diameter, thread geometry and manufacturing route. It should not be assumed solely from bar-stock data. As a useful material reference, annealed Grade 5 bar commonly has minimum tensile strength around 895 MPa, minimum 0.2% yield strength around 828 MPa and minimum elongation around 10%, subject to the governing standard and section size.
For design, buyers should state the required tensile or proof load, shear requirements, fatigue duty and installation preload. SAKY ALLOY will confirm the applicable acceptance criteria before manufacture.
Why Specify Ti-6Al-4V Fasteners?
- High strength at low weight: useful in aerospace, vehicle, offshore and portable equipment.
- Corrosion resistance: suitable for many seawater, chloride and industrial environments after application review.
- Non-magnetic behaviour: valuable for selected instruments and specialist assemblies.
- Wide temperature capability: useful across many engineering services within the approved design range.
- Long lifecycle potential: reduced corrosion-related replacement may justify the higher initial material cost.
Standards and Dimensional Options
ASTM F468/F468M addresses commercial wrought nonferrous bolts, hex cap screws and studs for general use. Matching general-use nonferrous nuts are addressed by ASTM F467/F467M. Metric or inch dimensions may also be defined by ISO, DIN or ASME/ANSI standards.
The specification revision, alloy designation, nominal diameter, pitch, length, thread tolerance, head dimensions, mechanical class, finish and tests should all appear on the purchase order. Aerospace, pressure, subsea or safety-critical assemblies may require application-specific standards beyond the general-use ASTM documents.
Marine and Offshore Applications
Grade 5 titanium hex bolts and nuts are frequently evaluated for seawater equipment, offshore platforms, subsea instruments, pumps, valves, filtration systems, heat exchangers, marine exhaust components and high-performance vessels. Their low density is especially useful where component mass or manual handling matters.
Titanium is relatively noble in seawater. When it is coupled to a less noble metal, galvanic corrosion of the mating component can be accelerated. Joint design may require compatible materials, suitable coatings, nonconductive sleeves or washers, and control of the cathode-to-anode area ratio.
Installation and Galling Control
Titanium threads can gall under sliding contact and high surface pressure. Clean, accurately formed threads are essential. A project-approved lubricant or anti-seize compound, controlled tightening speed and a validated torque–tension procedure can reduce seizure risk.
Do not reuse generic carbon-steel torque values. Friction changes with thread finish, lubricant, washer arrangement and mating materials, and directly affects achieved preload.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Grade 5 titanium bolts stronger than Grade 2 bolts?
Yes, Grade 5 normally provides substantially higher strength. Finished-bolt capacity must still be confirmed against the specified fastener standard and test results.
Can Grade 5 titanium bolts be used in seawater?
They perform well in many marine applications, but crevices, galvanic coupling, temperature and unusual water chemistry must be reviewed for the actual assembly.
Do titanium bolts require anti-seize?
An approved lubricant or anti-seize compound is commonly considered to reduce galling and improve preload control. Compatibility with the service environment must be confirmed.
Can SAKY ALLOY manufacture custom sizes?
Custom dimensions and drawing-specific titanium fasteners can be evaluated. Send the drawing, quantity, specification and certification requirements for production review.
