Product Detail
Product Introduction
Titanium Grade 1 Pipe & Tube is supplied for corrosion-resistant fabrication and precision manufacturing. The final purchase definition must identify the exact material designation, governing specification and revision, dimensions, condition, tolerances, tests and documentation; trade-name or cross-standard equivalence is not assumed.
When is Grade 1 titanium tube appropriate?
Selection answer: Grade 1 tube is considered where maximum ductility and forming response are important, including tightly formed or fabricated components governed by the applicable tube or pipe specification.
Selection boundary: Grade 1 has lower minimum strength than the other CP grades. The designer must verify pressure, wall thickness and fabrication requirements rather than substituting it by grade name alone.
RFQ data to confirm: State whether ASTM B338 tube, ASTM B861 seamless pipe or ASTM B862 welded pipe applies, plus OD or NPS, wall, route, length, ends, tests and forming operations.

Services We Can Provide
Product Packaging
Pipe and tube ends are capped, surfaces are wrapped where required, and bundles or export cases are identified by grade, size, heat and quantity. Typical export packaging for the same physical product form is shown below; final packing is confirmed for each order.

Application Scenarios

Chemical processing equipment
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Marine and desalination systems
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Industrial fabrication and precision components
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.
Specification & Selection Notes
Product-standard boundary
Grade 1 is UNS R50250 unalloyed titanium, but the correct ASTM standard depends on the ordered product. ASTM B338 covers seamless and welded tube for condensers and heat exchangers; ASTM B861 covers seamless pipe for general corrosion-resisting and elevated-temperature service; ASTM B862 covers welded pipe for that service. Tube and pipe descriptions are not interchangeable. State the exact revision, product form, seamless or welded route, OD or NPS, wall or schedule, length, condition, ends and documentation.
Inspection and traceability
Confirm Grade 1 / UNS R50250 heat identity, the expressly ordered standard and revision, seamless or welded construction, chemistry and mechanical results, OD or NPS, wall, length, condition, surface and ends, marking, MTC and heat/lot traceability. Apply the hydrostatic, pneumatic, eddy-current, ultrasonic, flattening, bend or other tests required by the selected standard and purchase order; do not list generic NDT without acceptance criteria.
Selection boundary
Grade 1 is the lowest-strength and generally most formable commercially pure titanium grade. Use it only where the approved design supports its strength and service basis. The choice between heat-exchanger tube, seamless pipe and welded pipe should be made before requesting dimensions or tests, because manufacturing route, tolerances and acceptance requirements differ.
Technical FAQ
Which ASTM standard applies to Grade 1 titanium pipe or tube?
Use ASTM B338 for condenser or heat-exchanger tube, ASTM B861 for seamless pipe, or ASTM B862 for welded pipe. Define the actual product and manufacturing route instead of listing all three as equivalents.
Can Grade 1 pipe be substituted for Grade 2 pipe?
Not automatically. Grade 1 and Grade 2 have different specified strength and chemistry limits. Substitution requires confirmation against the design, fabrication route, service conditions and governing code.
What information is needed to quote Grade 1 pipe or tube?
Provide standard and revision, Grade 1 / UNS R50250, tube or pipe form, seamless or welded route, OD or NPS, wall or schedule, length, condition, ends, service data, testing, MTC, quantity and destination.
