Product Detail
Product Introduction
Titanium Grade 12 Pipe & Tube is supplied for corrosion-resistant fabrication and precision manufacturing. The final purchase definition must identify the exact material designation, governing specification and revision, dimensions, condition, tolerances, tests and documentation; trade-name or cross-standard equivalence is not assumed.
Where does Grade 12 pipe or tube fit?
Selection answer: Grade 12 Ti-0.3Mo-0.8Ni is considered for selected chemical and heat-transfer systems requiring improved crevice-corrosion behavior and greater strength than common CP grades.
Selection boundary: It is not interchangeable with Grade 2, Grade 7 or a nickel alloy. Confirm corrosion data, fabrication route, welding procedure and the exact product standard for the service.
RFQ data to confirm: State seamless or welded product, governing standard, dimensions, process chemistry, operating and upset temperatures, pressure, welding, testing and traceability.

Services We Can Provide
Product Packaging
Pipe and tube ends are capped, surfaces are wrapped where required, and bundles or export cases are identified by grade, size, heat and quantity. Typical export packaging for the same physical product form is shown below; final packing is confirmed for each order.

Application Scenarios

Chemical processing equipment
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Marine and desalination systems
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Industrial fabrication and precision components
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.
Specification & Selection Notes
Product-standard boundary
Grade 12 is UNS R53400 titanium alloyed nominally with 0.3 % molybdenum and 0.8 % nickel. ASTM B338 covers seamless and welded condenser or heat-exchanger tube, ASTM B861 covers seamless pipe, and ASTM B862 covers welded pipe; all include Grade 12, but their product scopes and acceptance requirements differ. State the exact revision, tube or pipe form, seamless or welded route, dimensions, annealed or other expressly permitted condition, ends, testing and documentation.
Inspection and traceability
Confirm Grade 12 / UNS R53400 heat identity, molybdenum and nickel chemistry, the ordered standard and revision, construction route, mechanical results, OD or NPS, wall, length, condition, surface and ends, marking, MTC and heat/lot traceability. Apply pressure, leak, flattening, bend, eddy-current, ultrasonic or supplementary tests only as required by the chosen standard and defined purchase-order criteria.
Selection boundary
Grade 12 is evaluated for specific corrosion, strength and temperature requirements, particularly where its molybdenum-nickel alloying is relevant, but it should not be selected only from a broad application label. Compare it with Grade 2 and Grade 7 using the actual chemical environment, temperature, pressure, fabrication route, weld procedure and governing design code.
Technical FAQ
Is Grade 12 titanium pipe the same as Grade 2 pipe?
No. Grade 12 is UNS R53400 with molybdenum and nickel additions, while Grade 2 is commercially pure UNS R50400. Their chemistry, specified properties and approved service basis are different.
Can the same Grade 12 material description be used for tube and pipe?
No. ASTM B338 tube, ASTM B861 seamless pipe and ASTM B862 welded pipe have different scopes, manufacturing routes and acceptance requirements. The product form must be identified on the order.
What information is needed to quote Grade 12 pipe or tube?
Provide standard and revision, Grade 12 / UNS R53400, tube or pipe form, seamless or welded route, OD or NPS, wall, length, condition, ends, service chemistry, pressure and temperature, testing, MTC, quantity and destination.
