Product Detail

Product Introduction

Grade 2 Titanium Low Head Socket Cap Screws reduce head height while retaining an internal-hex drive. The lower head changes socket depth, head strength and allowable installation torque compared with a standard socket head cap screw, so substitution requires verification of clamp load, clearance, bearing stress, thread engagement and service loading.

Typical inquiry ranges are not a stock guarantee. Final manufacturability, tolerances and test requirements are confirmed against the complete RFQ.

Selection and Configuration

  • Height restriction: Define maximum head projection, counterbore or surrounding clearance and required bearing-face diameter.
  • Drive and torque: Confirm socket size, engagement, tightening tool and permitted torque for the selected shallow-head geometry.
  • Threaded joint: State thread, tolerance, length, engagement, mating material, preload method, lubrication and reuse expectations.
Standards and ordering definition: DIN 7984, ISO 14580 or an approved drawing may define low-head geometry when expressly invoked. The purchase order must separately define titanium material, condition, finished-part acceptance, strength requirements, tests and documentation.

FAQ

How is a low head screw different from a standard socket head cap screw?

It has a shallower cylindrical head and usually reduced socket engagement. Clearance improves, but head capacity and tightening limits must be reviewed.

Can DIN 7984 steel torque values be used directly for titanium?

No. Installation torque depends on titanium grade, finished-part requirements, thread friction, lubrication, mating material and joint validation.

What dimensions should be inspected?

Head height and diameter, socket dimensions, overall length, thread size and fit, bearing face and any drawing-specific concentricity requirements should be defined.
