Product Detail
Product Introduction
Grade 5 Titanium Machining Parts is supplied for corrosion-resistant fabrication and precision manufacturing. The final purchase definition must identify the exact material designation, governing specification and revision, dimensions, condition, tolerances, tests and documentation; trade-name or cross-standard equivalence is not assumed.

Specification & Selection Notes
Product-standard boundary
A finished Grade 5 titanium machining part has no single universal ASTM product standard. Starting stock may be ordered to ASTM B348/B348M bar, ASTM B265/B265M plate or sheet, ASTM B381 forging requirements, an AMS material specification, or another expressly approved source specification. The drawing and purchase order must separately control finished geometry, tolerances, surface, inspection and documentation.
Inspection and traceability
Maintain heat and lot traceability from incoming Ti-6Al-4V material through cutting, machining and final marking. Define critical dimensions and datum scheme, threads and gauges, surface roughness, burr and edge condition, cleanliness, visual inspection, CMM or dimensional report, penetrant or other NDT, material certificate and any first-article or customer witness requirements.
Selection boundary
Use Grade 5 / UNS R56400 when the approved component design requires Ti-6Al-4V strength-to-weight performance. Do not substitute Grade 23 ELI or infer aerospace or medical compliance from the alloy name. Starting-stock standard, heat treatment, machining route, finished-part drawing and application-specific quality requirements must agree.
Technical FAQ
Does ASTM B348 certify a finished Grade 5 machined part?
ASTM B348 can certify applicable bar or billet starting stock. It does not replace the finished-part drawing, dimensional inspection, machining-process controls or final acceptance requirements.
Can Grade 5 and Grade 23 machined parts be substituted?
No. Grade 23 has extra-low interstitial requirements and may follow a different specification and quality route. Any substitution requires engineering approval and document-level comparison.
What is required for a machining quotation?
Send the controlled drawing and revision, Grade 5 source-material specification and condition, quantity, critical dimensions and tolerances, threads, surface roughness, coating or treatment, inspection report, NDT, first article, MTC, marking, packaging and destination.
FAQ
What information is required to quote Grade 5 Titanium Machining Parts?
Provide the titanium grade, product form, dimensional standard or drawing, thread or critical dimensions, quantity, surface treatment, mating parts, service conditions and required inspection documents.
Which standards apply to Grade 5 Titanium Machining Parts?
Customer drawing with ASTM B348, ASTM B265 or ASTM B381 source material as applicable
How are Grade 5 Titanium Machining Parts inspected?
