Product Detail

Product Introduction

Source ASTM B348 titanium bar in commercially pure and alloy grades, with cut-to-size supply, inspection and material traceability. Final supply is controlled by the grade, specification revision, dimensions, condition, tolerance, inspection and documentation stated on the approved order.

How should an ASTM B348 titanium bar grade be selected?

Selection answer: Choose the grade from the required strength, fabrication, corrosion and end use. Grade 2 is a common commercially pure baseline, Grade 5 is strength-led, Grade 7 is palladium-bearing for corrosion-selected service, and Grade 23 is Ti-6Al-4V ELI under its applicable specification.

Selection boundary: Do not substitute ASTM B348 Grade 23 / UNS R56407, ASTM F136 / UNS R56401 or an aerospace bar specification based only on Ti-6Al-4V ELI naming. The governing standard, condition, testing and certificate system determine acceptance.

RFQ data to confirm: Send alloy grade, specification and revision, form, diameter or section, length, tolerances, condition, machining allowance, application, NDT, MTC and traceability for RFQ review.

FAQ

Does ASTM B348 define one titanium bar grade?

No. ASTM B348/B348M covers multiple commercially pure and alloyed titanium grades. The order must state the exact grade, such as Grade 2, Grade 5, Grade 7 or Grade 23, together with bar or billet form and dimensions.

Does ASTM B348 cover every titanium rod application?

No. It covers the product forms and grades within its scope. Aerospace, medical, pressure-equipment or customer-controlled applications may require a different specification, condition, tests and documentation even when the alloy family appears similar.

What information is needed to quote ASTM B348 titanium bar?

Provide ASTM B348/B348M revision, grade and UNS, round, hex, square, flat or billet form, diameter or cross-section, length, tolerance, condition, surface, straightness, quantity, application, NDT, MTC and heat traceability.
