Product Detail

Product Introduction

Titanium square tube is defined by equal outside sides, wall thickness and controlled corner geometry. It is selected for fabricated frames, skids and supports where four-face symmetry, diagonal equality, twist and cut-end squareness influence jigging and weld fit-up. A round-tube specification does not by itself define this non-round section.

Selection Priorities

Equal-side geometry

State one outside side B, wall t, internal and external corner radii and allowable side concavity or convexity. Both outside axes must be equal.

Frame fit-up

Control diagonal equality, squareness, twist, straightness and cut-end perpendicularity where mitres, jigs or four-face connections must align.

Manufacturing route

Confirm formed and welded or another approved route, seam location and acceptance, surface condition and any post-forming heat-treatment requirement.

Product Specifications

ProductTitanium Square TubeGradeTitanium Grade 2, Grade 5 or specified alloy
StandardTitanium square tubing is commonly supplied to a customer drawing and agreed manufacturing/inspection specification. ASTM / ASME terms are the primary purchasing references. EN/W.-Nr. 3.7035 and 3.7165, JIS titanium grade terminology, and GB/T TA2 or TC4 keywords can also be reviewed when the exact product-form standard and revision are stated; they are not automatic equivalents. Do not cite a round heat-exchanger-tube standard as a substitute for non-round geometry and acceptance criteria.Size & FormSquare hollow section; 10 × 10 to 100 × 100 mm RFQ reference, 0.5–5.0 mm wall and 1,000–6,000 mm cut-length RFQ reference. InspectionEqual outside sides and wall, diagonal equality, corner radii, four-face concavity or convexity, straightness, twist, cut-end squareness, surface and weld seam where applicable are reviewed against the order. Additional Supply & Ordering Details

Useful, technically consistent information consolidated from earlier product pages.

Section definitionSquare titanium tube has equal outside side dimensions. Specify outside side size, wall thickness, inside and outside corner radii, length, straightness, twist and squareness; it is not adequately defined by an equivalent round OD.
Manufacturing-route boundaryFormed-and-welded, extruded, drawn or machined hollow routes can produce different corner geometry, wall distribution, surface and economic quantity. State the approved route and applicable project specification.
Fit-up and fabrication dataProvide mating-frame dimensions, weld joint design, corner orientation, cut-length tolerance and whether the section is cosmetic, structural or used as machining stock.
Inspection focusMeasure all four sides, diagonals, wall, corner radii, twist, bow and end squareness; inspect the longitudinal seam when welded and maintain heat/lot traceability through cutting.

Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Marine, chemical and architectural assemblies requiring balanced section geometry

Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

FAQ

How is titanium square tube different from rectangular tube?

Square tube has equal outside sides and is often selected for balanced four-face geometry. Rectangular tube has unequal sides and direction-dependent stiffness; the two should not share one dimensional callout.

Which measurements control square-frame fit-up?

Outside side, wall, corner radii, diagonal equality, straightness, twist and cut-end squareness control whether mitres and four-face joints align.

Is titanium square tube covered by ASTM B338?

ASTM B338 primarily addresses seamless and welded tubes for condensers and heat exchangers. Non-round square sections should be ordered to an explicit drawing and agreed manufacturing and inspection specification.

Can Grade 5 be formed like Grade 2?

Not automatically. Grade 5 has higher strength and different forming behavior, so section size, radii, route and heat-treatment requirements require manufacturing review.
