Product Detail
Product Introduction
Grade 5 Titanium Coil is supplied for corrosion-resistant fabrication and precision manufacturing. The final purchase definition must identify the exact material designation, governing specification and revision, dimensions, condition, tolerances, tests and documentation; trade-name or cross-standard equivalence is not assumed.
How should Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V coil be specified?
Selection answer: Grade 5 coil is selected for strength-to-weight and alloy-component applications where the exact flat-product specification, condition and downstream process support Ti-6Al-4V.
Selection boundary: ASTM B265 Grade 5 and aerospace specifications are not interchangeable order descriptions. Grade 5 also has less forming latitude than commercially pure Grade 1 or Grade 2, so bend severity, direction, heat treatment and surface requirements need review.
RFQ data to confirm: State the governing specification and revision, condition, thickness and tolerance, width, coil ID/OD and weight, edge, surface, grain direction if relevant, forming or machining route, quantity, tests and documentation.

Services We Can Provide
Product Packaging
Coils and slit strip are wrapped against moisture and edge damage, secured on skids or in export cases, and labeled with grade, heat, size, coil weight and edge condition. Typical export packaging for the same physical product form is shown below; final packing is confirmed for each order.

Application Scenarios

Chemical processing equipment
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Marine and desalination systems
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Industrial fabrication and precision components
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.
Specification & Selection Notes
Product-standard boundary
ASTM B265/B265M covers annealed titanium and titanium-alloy strip, sheet and plate and identifies Grade 5 as UNS R56400 Ti-6Al-4V. Coil is a supply format, not a separate grade or complete condition. The purchase order should state the exact standard revision, Grade 5 / UNS R56400, strip or coil form, final condition, thickness and tolerance, width, coil ID and OD, maximum unit weight, edge, surface, flatness or camber and documentation. AMS 4911 or another aerospace specification is separate and must not be assumed from an ASTM B265 description.
Inspection and traceability
Verify heat identity, chemistry, tensile results and test orientation, final condition, thickness and width, coil ID and OD, unit weight, edge, camber, surface, marking, MTC and heat/lot traceability. Ultrasonic testing, microstructure, special cleanliness or customer witness should be added only with an agreed method and acceptance criteria.
Selection boundary
Select Grade 5 coil when the approved design and downstream process require Ti-6Al-4V strength-to-weight performance in continuous strip or coil form. It is not a general corrosion upgrade over commercially pure titanium. Slitting, forming, joining, minimum bend requirements and the final component specification should be reviewed before ordering.
Technical FAQ
Is ASTM B265 Grade 5 coil automatically AMS 4911 material?
No. ASTM B265 and AMS 4911 are separate specifications with different purchasing and quality requirements. Name the required specification and revision on the RFQ and purchase order.
Does titanium coil mean cold-rolled material?
No. Coil describes the supply format. The manufacturing route and final condition must be stated separately, together with thickness, surface and dimensional requirements.
