Product Detail
Product Introduction
Titanium Grade 2 Coil is supplied for corrosion-resistant fabrication and precision manufacturing. The final purchase definition must identify the exact material designation, governing specification and revision, dimensions, condition, tolerances, tests and documentation; trade-name or cross-standard equivalence is not assumed.
When should Grade 2 titanium coil be selected?
Selection answer: Grade 2 coil is a common commercially pure titanium choice for corrosion-resistant fabricated parts, welded equipment and moderate forming where more minimum strength than Grade 1 is useful.
Selection boundary: Do not specify Grade 2 from the grade name alone. Coil geometry, surface, edge condition and downstream forming must be controlled, while Grade 7 or Grade 12 may require review for more demanding corrosion environments and Grade 5 for strength-led designs.
RFQ data to confirm: Provide ASTM B265 revision, thickness and tolerance, width, coil ID and OD, maximum unit weight, slit or mill edge, surface, camber or flatness limits, downstream forming or welding, total quantity and certificate requirements.

Additional Supply & Ordering Details
Useful, technically consistent information consolidated from earlier product pages.
| Grade identity | Grade 2 / UNS R50400 coil is commercially pure titanium selected for corrosion resistance, ductility and weldability. It is lower strength and generally more formable than Grade 3. |
|---|---|
| Processing definition | State ASTM B265, condition, thickness, width, coil ID/OD, maximum weight, edge, surface, camber, flatness and downstream forming or welding route. |
| Service review | Provide medium, concentration, temperature, contaminants, crevices and galvanic contacts for chemical or marine service. |
| Inspection | Request Grade 2 chemistry and mechanical results, thickness and width mapping, edge and surface inspection, coil identity and heat/lot traceability. |

Services We Can Provide
Product Packaging
Coils and slit strip are wrapped against moisture and edge damage, secured on skids or in export cases, and labeled with grade, heat, size, coil weight and edge condition. Typical export packaging for the same physical product form is shown below; final packing is confirmed for each order.

Application Scenarios

Chemical processing equipment
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Marine and desalination systems
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.

Industrial fabrication and precision components
Material grade, dimensions, condition and inspection must be matched to the application requirements.
Specification & Selection Notes
Product-standard boundary
ASTM B265/B265M covers annealed titanium and titanium-alloy strip, sheet and plate and identifies Grade 2 as UNS R50400 unalloyed titanium. Coil describes the supply format; the order must still state strip or coil form, the exact specification revision, Grade 2 / UNS R50400, final condition, thickness and tolerance, width, coil ID and OD, maximum unit weight, edge, surface, camber and documentation. Grade 2H uses the same UNS but adds a higher guaranteed minimum tensile strength and must not be assumed unless ordered.
Inspection and traceability
Confirm heat identity, Grade 2 / UNS R50400 chemistry and mechanical results, final condition, thickness and width, coil ID and OD, unit weight, edge, camber, surface, marking, MTC and heat/lot traceability. Add special flatness, cleanliness, testing or customer witness only with an agreed measurement method and acceptance criteria.
Selection boundary
Grade 2 is a widely specified commercially pure titanium grade, but coil suitability also depends on the downstream slitting, forming, welding or stamping process. Do not use the alloy name alone to establish corrosion suitability or forming performance; review service chemistry, temperature, minimum bend requirements, edge condition and final component specification.
Technical FAQ
Is Grade 2 titanium coil the same as Grade 2H coil?
They share UNS R50400, but Grade 2H has a higher guaranteed minimum tensile strength. Order the exact grade designation and applicable revision required by the design.
Does titanium coil automatically mean cold rolled?
No. Coil is the supply format. Manufacturing route, final annealed condition, thickness, surface and dimensional requirements must be stated separately.
