Product Detail

Product Introduction

Titanium Grade 2 Buttweld Fittings connects or changes the direction, branch, size or termination of titanium piping while maintaining material compatibility and corrosion resistance. Final selection requires the titanium grade, pipe dimensions, wall thickness, geometry, end preparation, pressure design basis and inspection plan.

When is Grade 2 used for titanium buttweld fittings?

Selection answer: Grade 2 offers a practical balance of commercially pure titanium corrosion resistance, ductility and weldability for many chemical, seawater and heat-transfer piping systems.

Selection boundary: Do not select Grade 2 from the alloy name alone. Process chemistry, temperature, crevice conditions, connected-pipe wall, forming route and welding procedure determine whether Grade 2 is suitable.

RFQ data to confirm: Provide fitting type, ASTM B363 or ASME SB363 requirement, NPS or OD, schedule or wall, dimensional basis, process medium and temperature, seamless or welded route, NDT, quantity and MTC requirements.

Selection and Configuration

  • Material compatibility: Match the fitting grade, source product and welding procedure to the connected titanium pipe and service environment.
  • Dimensional definition: State NPS or outside diameter, wall thickness or schedule, center-to-end dimensions and end preparation.
  • Fabrication route: Specify seamless, welded, formed, forged, machined or drawing-controlled construction as applicable.
Pressure-design note: Dimensional conformity does not by itself establish pressure rating. The piping designer must verify material allowable stress, wall thickness, weld joint, corrosion allowance, temperature and governing construction code.

FAQ

What information is required to quote Titanium Grade 2 Buttweld Fittings?

Provide the titanium grade, product form, dimensional standard or drawing, thread or critical dimensions, quantity, surface treatment, mating parts, service conditions and required inspection documents.

Which standards apply to Titanium Grade 2 Buttweld Fittings?

ASTM B363 / ASME SB363 may control titanium welding fittings. ASME B16.9, ASME B16.11 and approved drawings may control geometry. The purchase order must identify the applicable edition, grade, dimensions, wall, ends, tests and documentation.

How are Titanium Grade 2 Buttweld Fittings inspected?

Available controls include MTC review, visual and dimensional inspection, wall-thickness checks, end preparation, dye-penetrant examination, radiography or other NDT when specified, and heat/lot traceability.
